By taking a personal guided tour with a marine biologist, your explorations of the reef will be so much richer. Learn all about the different species that live in the waters around us. See the myriad characterful, colourful reef fish and the much-spotted timid Blacktip reef sharks.
For the Robinson Crusoes among you, Embudhoo escape is an opportunity to do something that few can say they have done. Embudhoo is our private deserted island. Just 15 minutes away from Coco Palm, it’s home to a single traditional hut. Rustic and romantic, running away to this exclusive retreat for a few hours or an overnight stay is both a thrill and a privilege. Our chefs will prepare picnics so that your time on Embudhoo is delicious. Barbecues and group celebrations can also be arranged on Embudhoo, for the ultimate private party.
Join us on the beach for our weekly cinema night when the big screen goes up, and guests watch classics and new releases in style and comfort. Or, for a special screening, we can create you your own cinema on the beach complete with popcorn, drinks and our gorgeously comfortable beach-bag chairs.
Hop onboard one of our traditional hand-crafted Dhoni and cruise around the island as the sun sets. With the iconic curl of the boat’s black bow leading the way, the gentle waters, slow pace, Champagne and canapés combine to create a dreamy pre-dinner date. Join groups on select days or request a private cruise for that extra luxurious touch.
In one of our Maldivian Dhonis, you can join our island fishing crew and other guests as they sail to a nearby spot to fish for our restaurants. Your catch will be prepared by our chefs exactly to your liking and served that evening for dinner. This experience can be shared with a group in the afternoon or at sunset on select days. Alternatively, you can hire the boat and crew for a morning or big game fishing adventure.
Our wild Dolphin friends are never far away. They’re easy to spot as they play in the morning sun and bask in the warm evening sun. Morning cruises on select days will take you to see the Spinner dolphins perform their happy acrobatics. Closer to the island, Bottlenose dolphins leap over the wake of the boats. On very rare occasions, Risso’s dolphins are spotted near the island. In November 2015, a pod was seen. These majestic creatures are as dazzling as they are enigmatic.
In the middle of the island is a special spot for our chefs; their very own garden where fresh basil, rosemary, eggplant, Scotch bonnet chilli and a selection of other herbs and vegetables are grown. Once a week, you can experience a signature Maldivian dinner at the garden, with our chefs taking you through each course as they explain the inspiration behind the exclusive menu. Make new friends and learn more about traditional Maldivian cuisine as you toast to tastes you have never encountered before.
