The Golden Year of Tourism

Sep, 28 2022

We are delighted to introduce a collection of limited-edition dining experiences and activities to celebrate the Maldives marking its 50th tourism anniversary. A curated selection of features will become available on Monday, 3rd October and remain through the end of the month.

“Our team is thrilled to commemorate the destination’s golden anniversary in tourism and looks forward to welcoming guests to enjoy some of the original experiences that have made our islands such a unique place to visit,” said Siraj Ali Waseem, group general manager at Coco Collection. “Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu has hosted travellers from around the world for more than two decades. We are excited to have our guests join in on celebrating more years of visiting the Maldives to come!”

Paying homage to what began attracting guests to this island nation in the first place, the experiences will offer an array of traditional dishes, spa treatments, and distinctive services. Festivities will kick-off with a selection of limited-edition dishes and dining features that combine traditional Maldivian ingredients and flavours with a modern approach. Guests can enjoy the past meets present delicacies in the restaurants onsite and around the island including a three-course Maldivian fine dining tasting at Cornus, a beach picnic featuring spiced tuna and coconut samosas, and an island fish fry made complete with freshly grilled catch and live music. Guests can also choose to partake in “A Day in Maldivian Life” experience where they will select from set menu options for breakfast and lunch that speak to a traditional Maldivian diet.

In addition to the dining features that celebrate traditions of the island and surrounding tourism hotspot, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu will be inviting guests to indulge in a signature spa treatment that is inspired by the natural beauty of the destination. The unique amenity utilises soft beach sand and shells to provide an invigorating experience. A special Maldivian Sands Massage will be made available for guests to enjoy during the month of October.
